Be a mom. Be yourself.

Moms were once just girls, women, who were not the nurturers of other humans. A mom is a mom, and that is a fabulous title to hold, one I personally take more pride in than any single other title. But, on top of that a mom is just a human.

I bring this up because so often I hear people say, "I can't believe she did that. She is a mom". I saw one woman get her name drug through all sorts of mud because she used to go to parties and still has a few pictures from it.... Can you believe that!? A mom... Who once went out on weekends...

So, although someone may be a mom and that is a special role, she is also still just a human.. Who may or may not wear short shorts (or long ones) maybe in her past she did things that weren't "mom like". I personally don't go out much on weekends(and when I say that I mean hardly ever) but a mom, single or happily married, as long as her child(ren) are taken care of, should be able to occasionally enjoy down-time without scrutiny. Clearly, some things about me changed when I brought my baby into the world but the core parts of me and most women don't have to. I'm "Boston's mom" but I am also, "Ashlynn". I have got along great for the last 21 months being both. If you are sarcastic, silly, adventurous ect... Your child will like to see those things in you.

Be a mom. Be a woman. Be yourself. Don't ever feel like you can't be all three.
