I have always heard the expression, "It takes a village to raise a child" and for a while I was kind of stubborn (imagine that) and I thought to myself that I was the one changing the diapers, waking up in the middle of the night and doing all that, not the village.
Today I have been feeling extremely grateful about how much 'the village' had honestly helped me raise Boston. I say it a million times but really Boston has the best grandparents, ever. They are so great to her. My mom spent the first month and a half of Boston's life sleeping on an air-mattress at our house taking care of both of us. And on top of that I have the best grandparents, my grandpa John was only alive for five short months of her life but he helped so much while he was here and my grandma Darlene is still always helping. Boston gets so confused when we see her and I tell her to give grandma a love... (The only grandma she comprehends is grandma Eloise). My sisters are so good to her and them along with my friends spoil her and babysit so much. She only has a few aunts but has tons of 'aunts' that never let her go without... An outfit, a toy, a fun day being tended. At the shower my family had for me in Preston Boston was given so much that I didn't need to buy diapers till she was 15 months old.. Now, that is a great village!
I guess basically I'm just feeling very blessed tonight. So, if you've ever babysat, brought a present to her shower, offered to help, even wrote us a kind message-- THANK YOU. Thank you all so much for being such an amazing 'village' for my babe. I would never be able to do it alone.
•••Boston thanks you, too!
