Yesterday morning I woke up in the best mood because it was Valentines Day! I gave Boston her presents, got the presents ready for people at work, and listened to adorable love songs... It took me till 11:30 to realize that I was a day ahead and it was only February 13th. So, props to me we now get to do it all over again today!
If you know me you know that I LOVE Valentines Day and not just for the cliche of it. Now don't get me wrong I love a good Ashton Kutcher romantic comedy or a Nicholas Sparks love story just as much as the next girl but mostly I just love having a day where you let people you love know you love them.
Growing up my parents would always get me a little Valentines Day present and I love that I am continuing that tradition with my own baby. I actually can remember almost every Valentines experience since high school. I remember my Jr. year hobbling in on crutches to the neighbor high school school and laying my eyes on a tall guy (number 22 if my memory serves me well) and knowing we would be together. I remember the cheesy gift I gave that same boy four years later. I loved the Valentines Day of 2010 that I was so single it was ridiculous and making a fire in the backyard of the house myself and my two friends, Sam and Dayne, shared and what a fun night it was. I remember the year before I was pregnant and Boston's 'dad giving me two pairs of tall socks (I love tall socks) and a homemade card he made on cardboard (which is in a box for Boston one day so she can see that one point their was more than forced pleasantries when her parents occasionally have to see each other).
Valentines isn't just about the roses and the stuffed animals or the cards or huge expectations. It's just about reminding anyone you care about that they are important to you and you value them in your life. We hope our real Valentines Day is just as good as our pre-Valentines we had yesterday!
And on that note... Happy Valentines to all of YOU! Thank you for all of the support and love you give to my baby and me! Also... Sorry for the huge grammar errors in yesterday's post:.. Siri helped me but they are mostly fixed.
