..

I like to picture that America is sort of like a giant family. In our giant family we don't always agree on every topic...like most we have some family members who are a little too uptight and conservative and we have some family members who are way too extreme and liberal but at the end of the day we are all after a common cause... we want our family to be successful, safe, healthy and prospering. Plus what I enjoy most about my family is everyone is so different; it would be so boring to go to a family party and see every cousin is just like you.  I'm not sure how it is in your family but in mine I can disagree with a family member I may even get in a fight with them but the second someone outside the family disagree's or fights with one of my family members the gloves come off and I don't tolerate that.

This post isn't an 'anti-Obama' post... there have been a few policies of his that I actually agree with but I am worried that our country (our family) has been threatened recently and that fellow Americans (family members) have been killed publicly and so far a small speech in between golf games is the most that has been done about it.

My mom has a friend (who shall remain nameless for this post) who is always in other peoples business. Her intent is great and she loves helping but she is always diving into things that she shouldn't and it ends up hurting her. I love that America has always wanted to help other countries and other people but eventually, even with our good intent, like my moms friend, it will probably hurt us. Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of is evil is for good men to do nothing." I truly believe that but selfishly I am also more for self-preservation.

I love that growing up I always felt safe when I went to bed at night, I hope that is a feeling my daughter gets to have while she grows up as well.

This may seem like a sporadic and random post but lately I have just been pretty worried about our future.
