I'm not responsible for your sons thoughts. I'm not responsible for your husbands thoughts. Sometimes I have dirty thoughts about Nick Jonas and do I blame it on him? Absolutely not. I take full responsibility for my less than wholesome fantasies regarding Nick Jonas.
You probably have never heard a man say to another man "put your shirt on, I don't want my wife or daughter to have that image in her head." It is a complete double standard for girls to have to worry about their appearance and how it effects their image and the thoughts of others. I can almost promise when a woman is at the gym doing squats or on the treadmill she isn't looking to impress your husband or son.
It's no wonder so many women are dealing with body issues when other women are constantly criticizing how they look. You don't have to be a certain size to wear leggings, shorts, tank tops, ect. I'm alarmed by the numerous posts I have seen in regards to the size or age limit a woman needs to be in order to wear a certain article of clothing, such as leggings.
Yes, there are appropriate ways to wear certain types of clothing. Do I really want to see all of your goods? Probably not. However, it is not my place to critique what another person chooses to wear and what they feel comfortable in.
Don't complain to me on Thanksgiving when your jeans feel like they are suffocating you and your waist has no room to breathe while I'll be sitting comfortably in my leggings with their elastic band.
Do I really feel like I need to be an advocate for leggings? No, but the issue is so much greater than what you choose to wear on your legs. It's so important to be comfortable with yourself and your body.
Don't tell me I can't wear leggings as pants. I'll wear them as a damn scarf if I want to.

LOVE THIS!!! I hate that the world's standards and ideas of what is right or wrong, and age appropriate even effects my decisions of what to wear, but because I hear so many people criticizing and critiquing others I am often afraid to just wear what I wanna wear.... But to this fantastic blog-i just wanna say AMEN SISTA! And I am loving my leggings this winter😉
