A few weeks ago Boston was taking her nap and I got a little bit bored and I decided to start a group on Facebook for moms called #momlife . Now, I was just doing this fun for myself and other mom's to vent, share happy stories and talk about the crazy mom life we have. It's a private group but just type in #momlife in the search section; their are about 800 members now. One day a mom who is a Graphic Designer messages me asking if she could do a giveaway for free Christmas card designs for the group. Shortly after a mom who owns an online boutique asked if she could do a giveaway of one her best selling items. Another mom right after owning a makeup company offered one of her products for the group as a giveaway. And right now an amazing chalk graphic artist is doing one as well. I got this message the other day from one of my mom friends whom
I went to beauty school with and runs a salon in Cache Valley now and choked up with little happy tears....I will leave it anomymous but it said' "Hey Ashlynn, so I was thinking and I know how hard it is as a mother to justify the money it costs to take care of yourself. So I would like to do a give away for a cut and color on #momlife. I was thinking "new year, new you" type thing. What do you think?" I honestly had tears on my face just seeing moms wanting to share their talents to help other moms along with on my blog people wanting to use the things they have to help other people .
I watch the news and it just makes me sad to see some of the terrible things going on all over. Their are a lot of bad people BUT their are so many good people out here too and if you arn't lucky enough to find one of them be one of them. I think the holidays are getting to me this year because I have got to witness just really amazing kind things done by people without expecting anything in return and honestly in my eyes those people are hero's.
I few weeks ago I ran into McDonald's to buy a Diet Coke and randomly the older couple asked if they could pay for it for me along with an ice cream cone for my baby. They didn't know me, they didn't owe me anything, they were just kind people. If you can't afford to do something of financial value text or call someone who is going though something, people have done that for me and I honestly don't know if they will ever know how much it meant to me. The world is full of some real jerks but I am really loving getting to see the soft and kind sides of the others during this season.... I can honestly say it has made this holiday grinches heart grow almost three times.
