Slow Down, Time

I remember when I brought Boston home and she was wearing her little size newborn Jammie's. I looked at her new clothes all hung up perfectly in her closet taking a minute to look at my favorite pair of her size 3 month old Pajamas and thought to myself how big those seemed and they would never fit her; and then one day they did.

A while later she was lying on a blanket on the floor and I remember thinking to myself she was never going to roll over, she was too little; and then one day she did.

I never was able to picture her crawling or sitting up because rolling over was enough, she just seemed too little; and then one day she did.

After crawling for a few months I thought it would be a long time before she stood up or walked. Walking was for toddlers and Boston is just a baby; and then one day she just stood up and took steps.

It's hard for me now to remember when she was too little to do all of these things. I miss my little baby. We are now working on potty training and feeding herself with a spoon. I remember calling my mom the first time she showed interest in one of her toys, slowly chewing on it and grabbing for it and now she gets excited in the toy section at stores.  I wish time could hold still sometimes. I may have a breakdown when her clothes size isn't determined by her age and the 2t's start. A smile and a laugh was such an amazing accomplishment and now I get to see those every day. I'm so lucky and blessed to be able to see how my my little tiny Boston has grown and changed.

  1. Let me just tell you what an amazing mom you are! I know that so many young moms look up to you!!! I had heard from a few ladies in your parents ward what she was tying to do to you and what she says about you and it made me so upset. Karma is going to hit people who deserve it very hard.

  2. Ashlynn, Enjoy every phase that they go thru, good and bad. They do grow up fast and you will wonder where the time went. I grew up with your mom in Fairview and enjoy reading your blog that she posts. You are doing great and have a great attitude. Just keep loving and enjoying that little Boston!
