Thankful for the Small Steps

I knew I wanted to write a post for Thanksgiving and I have honestly been stumped on what to write. I kept racking my brain on a giant blessing I had recently to include and nothing was coming to me. I mean, I know I have so many little things that I am thankful for(good Chapstick, Boston's laugh, pinetree scented candles, Cadburry Eggs, the people who make lyric videos of songs for YouTube, and Daniel Togers Neigborhood apps on my phone just to name a few) and blessed to have but lately there have been no huge life events have happened where I just knew that an amazing thing happened for me to give thanks for. In my life I am used to 'big events' so the fact that lately I have not those usual 'big events' taking place I wasn't sure what to be thankful for.... And that's when it hit me..that's exactly what I am thankful for.

Not too long ago I had some struggles in my life and lately mine and Boston's life has been consistent and easier. Obviously, it's not a perfect life and it's not always an easy life but I am so thankful that it is calm for now. I have a beautiful daughter who has been healthy and happy. My family is so fun, so close and so supportive. The friends in our lives are so great to me and my baby. We go to sleep safe and in a safe community every night. Boston has the toys she wants, the food she likes, and is so so so so incredibly loved. I spend so much time looking for big blessings that I overlook all the the day-to-day ones that are smaller but I am lucky to have.

Rob Bell said, "That breath you took...
That's a gift." I have a habit of sometimes feeling like if big changes aren't happening in my life then my life isn't progressing like it should. Small steps are still steps and are still important nonetheless.
I'm thankful for the small steps and the consistency they bring.

Tuesday evening I taught her about turkeys, Indians and Pilgrims and being thankful...
Then we topped it off we making little Indian feather headbands!
