Thursday Thoughts

I have this theory that who you were is always a little bit of who you are...

I grew up in a small farming town, Preston, Idaho. To be completely fair, I cant even claim that I am from Preston, I never got to be one of the 'city kids' who got to walk to school (and yes, the 'city' had two stoplights), I am technically from Fairview, 7 ish miles outside of Preston. My house I was raised in was in the middle of nowhere, on a dirt road. I am and was raised LDS, Mormon  (and yes, I have a long ways to go) with an amazing, tight knit, supportive family. I feel like even if I were to live in one of the biggest cities in the world and attended the most insane type of events, deep down I would always be the small town, blonde haired, Mormon girl that I really am.

You cant change what you really are deep down... Nicer clothes and new acuaintances acquaintances thought for the day...

Boston and I have been having a wonderful week. She keeps me super busy! She is so funny and such a little show off. I hope that one day all of you get a chance to see us at the grocery store; she is quite the little entertainer for everyone we pass. She also always says, "mom mom" now! I'm not quite sure if she is referring to me or if that is just her noise she likes lately, but either way its cute and I will take it!

I am getting so excited to teach her about Christmas and continue traditions my mom started with me. Tomorrow night I am going to The Forgotten Carols, I am so excited! I went a few times with my family when I was younger but it has been so long! If you have never seen it you really should, it is amazing! I LOVE  Michael Mclean!

**This is a song from the Forgotten Carols. There is a special needs individual that I work with who is an older lady, one of the sweetest women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, who cries when she hears this song. It makes me cry as well.**

Oh, and this is exciting! I have been nominated to win an award to be one of the best single moms! If you are going to be a single mom, you should be one of the best ones out there, right? I mean growing up I never thought... I hope I can be a single mom, and I bet it would be fun to raise a baby by myself... If you want to vote for me that would be awesome, $100 to Target could buy so many diapers!

Thank you again for all of your prayers and kind words! They mean the world to us! Oh, and in case you read my last post... my hair is STILL red...It wont go away... some sort of karma I suppose...

  1. Growing up in Fairview as well I always envied the "city kids" that got to walk to school. I currently live 2 blocks from the school my daughter attends and she envies the kids that ride the bus. Go figure!

I just want to say that I agree that you will always be "the small town, blonde haired, Mormon girl that I really am." And don't you ever forget it! Don't let life let you forget your roots and who you really are.

Life never goes as planned, but you make the best of what you have at the time, which it sounds like you are doing well at.
