I BELIEVE

It's becoming blatantly clear, especially in just the last week, that you have to believe in something. I want to share what I believe today. 

•I believe in karma, that if you put good into the world you will get good back. It might not be today or tomorrow but you will get it eventually. Also, if you ruin something for someone it will inevitably come back to you (I am guilty of enjoying witnessing this) I also believe that we should do good just to do good and not with the expectation of karma.

 

•I believe that you will only be as happy as you decide to be.

•I belive in taking naps.

•I believe in family. I believe that a God that is great enough to give you a family will not just let the end of this life be the last time you see them. I believe that when everyone has turned their back your family will always be there.

•I believe you should respect you parents. I don't think anyone can ever love you like your mom does.

•I believe in being kind. I don't care if you are gay, straight, black, white, man, woman, atheist or christian if you are kind to me I will be kind to you... And if you're not kind to me, then dangit, I will try my hardest to at least not be mean to you.

 

•I believe in being honest.

•I believe that every single person is entitled to their opinion and shouldn't be punished for it as long as their opinion can be said with respect to those who don't share the same opinion. I really believe that the majority of people on both sides of the strong debates going on this week mean well (don't get me wrong there have been a few who don't and I have seen disgusting comments from on BOTH sides).  Have your opinions, hold strong to them BUT be mindful their are those who don't agree, that doesn't make them close minded or forceful, it just makes them different than you. 

•I believe in the principles that America was founded on, and I hate that I slowly see them disappearing.

•I believe in good people. Some of the best people I know are gay...&... Some of the best people are know are straight. Good people come in all shapes, sizes, colors and sexual preferences... Nothing will define if you are good except yourself.

•I believe everything is good in moderation and bad in excess.

•I believe in standing up for yourself.

•I believe that everyone, and I mean everyone, deserves to be happy.  No matter your age, gender, background, race, ect... You deserve the same chance for happiness as anyone else.

•I believe in God and I believe in Christ. And I believe that one day will all have the oppurtunity to meet them and it probably won't be till that day that we realize that their judgments are what matters not our peers. I also believe that God is a lot more than we will ever be and will accept us, faults and all.

I hope that my beliefs didnt offend you and if they did we can just agree to disagree. I don't really need to say if I am for gay marriage or against it or for Phil or against him because this week I have seen people from both sides become terrible and hateful versions of themselves while sharing their views. I have always been told 'what Sue says about Sally says more about Sue than it does Sally'. Saying 'being gay is disgusting and gross' (yes, I actually saw that as a status this week) will say so much more about you than any person who is gay. Just as saying 'Mormons are closed-minded and ignorant' (yep, I saw this one too) will always reveal more about your character than a member of the Mormon church's character.  I believe the best way to solve a conflict is to show empathy and respect. Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate... Seriously, try it. It makes the world of a difference.
