Yesterday we watched the most amazing video on forgiveness. It was about a family whose elderly mother was in a car accident on the way to visit her dead husbands grave. The accident was caused by a man who was with his pregnant wife on the way to a Dr. appointment, this man tested positive for drug use during the accident. The video goes to show how this family is able to forgive him and later it shows how the two families become friends. I seriously loved this so much, it was something I needed to see. *you can watch the video here forgiveness video
It really put some perspective into being able to forgive others who have hurt us. The man in the video showed so much remorse and sorrow and clearly he didn't purposely mean to end their mothers life. It made me feel a ton of guilt for not being as able to forgive others of such smaller things. It also got me thinking about the fact that their are two types of people who who hurt others... Those who do it without meaning to, without premeditation, like the man in movie... And then their are the type who hurt others purposely, they premeditated their actions and don't feel any remorse after. Those are the people that for me are do hard to forgive. Basically, I have a lot to work on in the forgiveness category, I am a grudge holder (once I was mad at Sam for two weeks because he left the toilet seat up at our house)... I heard the saying once that goes, "Forgive, not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace..." Ain't that the truth....life becomes easier when you accept the apologies you will never get.
Our Sunday has been great. Our last week was great..we hope yours has been, too. We will share some pictures tomorrow.
