Mom's Day 2014

Is am beyond blessed to have the mom I have been given. She is talented, smart, funny, caring, selfless, strong and so much more. People often tell me I look just like my mom and that is the best complement I can receive.

This is my third Mother's Day being a mom. The majority of the time I know I  not selfless and patient enough to be a good mom like so many of the moms I look up to.  If I am going to be completely honest Mother's Day can make me a little bit bitter (I feel really silly and actually pretty vulnerable admitting that). Before today I mentally prepared myself to see so many other moms post what their significant others helped their child get them for Mother's Day. Last night Boston and I were shopping and the store seemed to be filled with us and handfuls of men and their kids. Today was actually pretty dang great, though.
This morning I woke up to so many messages from friends and strangers telling me happy Mother's Day... Seriously, I feel so blessed. Boston gave me a tired hug when she woke up and told me she loves me...(and told me it was Boston's Day not mamma's day). Boston and I got taken out to breakfast and then had a great lunch later in the day with our family. Sometimes the best presents don't come from the store or in beautifully decorated boxes.

Happy Mother's Day, mom! And happy Mother's Day to any of you who are moms. I have been blessed with so many great examples of motherhood to look up to.

My awesome mom and my two older sisters, who are such great examples of moms.

..I'm blessed and I couldn't be more grateful. Do you want to know why? Because I'm a mother, but that's only half of it. I'm blessed because, when I need to, I can still just be a daughter. I get the feeling that there is nothing more precious than to have both of these roles, simultaneously.... I am so happy Boston helped make today & every day so special.

She loves helping me.
