Prayers & Percspective

Last night I was helping Boston say her prays before bed. She is two so they are relatively easy and short as far as prayers go. We bless everyone in our family (which she loves to say each one by name), I help remind her to bless her 'dad as well, we say thanks for the good day we have had and she usually says a blessing that she will get a treat. As we were doing this my mind wandered off and I started remembering a scenario that happened a few months ago and a person who made me extremely hurt and upset. In my head I began making a blessing that something terrible would happen to them. I got that thought out of my head as quickly as I could realizing that something bad happening to someone I don't like wouldn't make something awesome happen for me. So... I need to work on my prayers... I need to actually remember to be thankful when my prayers are answered and heard...showing appreciation and not always just asking... I also know I need to pray for good things to happen in my life and not for bad things to happen to other. I have so much to work on.

I have seen this story online a lot lately and just wanted to share it.

*
A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.
She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”
It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night.
Remember to put the glass down..**
so like Elsa from Frozen said, "Let it go..." (so much easier said than done).

This post probably is a cluster and doesn't make a lot of sense, it's more for me to remind myself to work on not just my prayers, but my attitude as well as my perspective on change.

Charles Darwin once said, “It’s not the strongest who survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most adaptable to change.”.... & I couldn't agree more.

Happy Saturday! Boston and I have had an awesome week and we will share some pictures on Monday. Don't forget to look at the previous post to see how you can win an amazing prize from The Rage salon in Logan, Utah.
