Last spring a person that I didn't know heard some pretty terrible untrue things about me... So, she said some pretty terrible and untrue things about me online. Have you heard the expression, "hurt people hurt people"... I was pretty hurt about it and I was immature and vindictive so I did the same back to her. It didn't help me feel better and it was pointless of me. The situation soon faded and I forgot about it till I received a message from her a year and a half later, this June. She apologized and told me she shouldn't have believed the source and shouldn't have got involved and said anything. I responded and apologized as well. It turns out I really like this girl. She has turned into such a wonderful friend and confidant and I have found myself talking to her daily about mom life (that we both have in common) and just every day struggles. Her husband is in the army and she occasionally has to go stretches of time without him and with no contact, so she gets the 'single mom' taste of life every once in a while, too. She is a tough woman and I really have been inspired by her. We don't live close but we do have a play date with our kids coming up and I am pumped for it.
I just wanted to share this because I am thankful for second chances, I am thankful for apologies and forgiveness and I am thankful for friendships formed in unlikely ways.
