Mom Friends.

Boston has dance again today. It's her second week going and it's probably a toss up who likes it more out of the two of us.

I love her little legwarmers, her little tights, her little skirt, her little ponytail, her tiny ballet slippers, the way she danced around and actually paid attention to her teacher so intently. I seriously just sit there and stare in disbelief as my little tiny baby all of the sudden looks like a child, not a tiny baby at all anymore.

This is how the lessons go... I take her in, we find her teacher, she goes up to the studio she is in, then I can either watch through a little window or go in a room and watch on a television how she is doing (it's best the parents aren't in there because then the little dancers may get distracted). Last week I chose to go in the room with all the other moms to watch on the screen and I totally felt like a novice mom. From what I gathered they all had other children, they were all so calm and collected while watching their kids while I had tears welling up in my eyes. They all knew such 'mom things' to talk about while I kind of stared at them trying to soak up as much of their mom expertise as I could. They just seemed cool... that sounds weird, I get it, but they just seemed to have their mom act down and things together. Some moms just know, ya know. It really made me miss my friends that talked about things I knew more about and when we talked about kids I was the expert in the conversation since I am the only one with a child. It's hard to make 'mom friends'... I mean their are my sisters, and they have kids, but that's different. I don't care that they think I am a pretty inexperienced mom and didn't know that diapers had sizes on them. Like, how do you even get other mom friends? Do you just ask if they want to have a play-date? Strike up a conversation about toddlers? They make it look so much easier on Desperate Housewives and other shows.

So, Boston is excited for dance class, I am excited to watch her.... & I am also excited to make a few mom friends. It's a win-win situation for us.

Really though, if you live by us and want to have a play date let me know!? I will attempt to make it less awkward and not completely coordinate mine and Boston's outfits that day.
