Sister Sister

Sunday afternoon my whole family was at my parents house for Easter. We were sitting out in the back field watching my brother-in-law and nephews fly kites they got for Easter and we were all being nostalgic about the things we did in the field when we were younger. Their were clubs invented, baseball games and sledding down the hill. So much nostalgia led to my oldest sister, Alicia saying. "I wish we could rewind time to 29 years ago when life was so fun and carefree." All of the adults in my family agreed then I finally remembered and spoke up and reminded everyone, "hey, I wasn't even born yet!" Everyone went from agreeing to laughing. Which leads me to a point a about siblings... It's only okay when they tease you. I can call my two older sisters bossy, crazy or mean (which believe me I have) but the SECOND someone else says a word about them they have hurricane Ashlynn to deal with and it goes the same way for them.
I have two older sisters, I actually don't really remember growing up with them (seriously I learned on Oprah that I am labeled an "almost only child"). Because of our age difference we had completely different childhoods. I don't think I would change that at all though. Instead of just two siblings I have two protectors. I know a girl on Facebook whose mom passed away a few years ago and her dad just recently; she is an only child so she is now having to deal with funeral plans alone and doesn't have the sibling support. Man, I know for sure I wouldn't be able to do that. Two weeks ago was National Sibling Day. I know it seems kind of like a silly holiday but I actually get it, I am so thankful for the two built in friends I was blessed with! I know I have told about this a million times... Blah blah blah blah I couldn't work a lot while I was pregnant because I was so sick and Boston's 'dad didn't think he needed to pay till he was forced to... That could have led to Boston having nothing when she was born. Not only was the community I grew up in, my family, my friends and coworkers amazing at the baby shower with so much more than I deserved but my two sisters were not going to let their niece go without and between the two of them they bought her crib, changing table, bassinet, car seat, hand sewn blessing dress and so much more. On top of that they have babysat so many times. They help me when I am sad, support me when I need it, give me praise when I have earned it and take me down a notch when my head is too big.

I always talk about how my grandma and myself were a lot alike and one of the other things we shared was our placement in our families; we were both the babies and both had older sisters. I think one of the hardest things for me at her funeral was seeing her two older sisters that are still alive so sad to have to bury their baby sister. I am feeling so blessed and so lucky for my two big sisters. If you have sisters who are great consider yourself lucky and go tell them thanks for being in your life!

Be nice to your siblings, they are the biggest link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.

My oldest sister, Alicia, got the three of us these rings and on the inside they are engraved and say "sister".

Our Pictures

My VERY favorite app is Instagram. I love pictures. I have always heard the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words" and I totally agree. Their are about a handful of people I follow on Instagram that I'm just in love with their beautiful pictures and moments that they capture, a ton of fitness and health ones for motivations, some other users I follow are moms who post super cute pictures of their life, who I look up to, and I actually follow a page that posts a ton of different amazing recipes and pictures of cookies (they are probably my biggest weakness). I first got Instagram and I didn't realize it was a social network, I just thought it was a photo editing app. I posted my first picture of me, Boston and her 'dad and was so confused when I got notifications for it (I swear I am technology illiterate). We have been so busy lately that I have slacked on posting any blog posts so I decided we would share some of our pictures and Instagram pictures from the last week. If you have Instagram find us (ashnbost_bronson) so we can find you and have some more fun pictures to look at.

Tuesday night Bosty and I did our facial masks. She loves it!
Wednesday, on my day off, I went and worked for my brother-in-law doing construction. Cause, ya know, babies are expensive. Boston's Uncle Ryan helped babysit along with her Aunt Ami, so I was able to work an extra day. It was really nice of them.
"Mere' mommy... Sit... Me" translation: "come here, mommy. Sit by me." I love my big girl.
Our toenails are always matching but Friday we made our matching summer anklets. This is our third summer doing this!
Saturday morning we went and saw the Easter Bunny and to an egg hunt in Franklin. Although she looks scared this may have been one of the top three moments of her life. She was so excited! She went back over to him countless times to give him hugs and five. Franklin is such an awesome community and it was so great going with my family to it.
Saturday we played with my friend, Kat and her little boy, Cash. Boston is so happy and content coloring with the sidewalk chalk.

EASTER!
Easter 2011 I took Boston's 'dad to my family party. He helped hide eggs, was so cute to my nephews and I was pretty certain that was going to be my favorite Easter I ever had... I was so wrong.
Easter with my baby was the best time ever! The Easter bunny left toys and outfits and treats around her basket with eggs hidden around the house... The Easter Bunny was pretty excited about it.
And Boston loved getting all of her stuff!
We had an Easter egg hunt with all of the cousins.... Boston and my niece, Bracken got a huge head start.... and Boston still was pretty terrible at it... but she loved it and was adorable!
W
We also played a game where we put shower caps and shaving cream on our heads while the rest of the family in teams competed to get cheese puffs to stick (strange but really fun)... My parents and nephews were a little too excited to be able to throw cheese puffs at my head.
I always say that Easter is one of my top days of the year but I have to honestly that this is the BEST of I have had YET!

I take a picture each Easter of my baby....It's mind-blowing to see how much she has changed and grown!

That's our life in pictures for the last week... to say we had a great, fun-filled week would be an understatement. I basically ate my weight in Cadburry Eggs and Peeps so I would say it was a success! Boston was however pretty upset this morning that their weren't any eggs around the house and baskets full of toys and treats. We are two blessed girls. I hope your holiday weekend was great, too!

Forgiveness

Yesterday we watched the most amazing video on forgiveness. It was about a family whose elderly mother was in a car accident on the way to visit her dead husbands grave. The accident was caused by a man who was with his pregnant wife on the way to a Dr.  appointment, this man tested positive for drug use during the accident. The video goes to show how this family is able to forgive him and later it shows how the two families become friends. I seriously loved this so much, it was something I needed to see. *you can watch the video here forgiveness video

It really put some perspective into being able to forgive others who have hurt us. The man in the video showed so much remorse and sorrow and clearly he didn't purposely mean to end their mothers life. It made me feel a ton of guilt for not being as able to forgive others of such smaller things. It also got me thinking about the fact that their are two types of people who who hurt others... Those who do it without meaning to, without premeditation, like the man in movie... And then their are the type who hurt others purposely, they premeditated their actions and don't feel any remorse after. Those are the people that for me are do hard to forgive. Basically, I have a lot to work on in the forgiveness category, I am a grudge holder (once I was mad at Sam for two weeks because he left the toilet seat up at our house)... I heard the saying once that goes, "Forgive, not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace..." Ain't that the truth....life becomes easier when you accept the apologies you will never get.

Our Sunday has been great. Our last week was great..we hope yours has been, too. We will share some pictures tomorrow.
