Whenever I run into an old classmate, a college friend or just anyone I haven't seen for a while in general we have the usual 'catch-up' moments. We both ask each other what the other has been up to... I hear their usual answers... Ya know, starting companies, traveling, finishing school, internships... ect. When they ask me the question I usually always feel inadequate compared to what they have been doing so my response tends to be something along the lines of, "Oh, nothing too big or important... just mom things." I normally feel like somewhat un-accomplished when I compare their big adventures to my 'just mom things'....
My friend, Kelsey, started one of my favorite sites, Sharing Shine, not too long ago and she posted an article that really struck home to me. I just really think the article put what I have felt into perspective and I was so excited when I read it that I couldn't wait to share it on here. She sums up what I wan't my feelings to be perfectly. No one is 'just'
anything and it's important to take more pride in what you are doing and avoid downplaying any of your roles.

Ashlynn/ you don't know me but I did a little cyber stalking to find out who you were. I know someone who I am sure you don't get s long with to well. So far I am so impressed by how you have handled yourself. You are an amazing mamma and have had to deal with someone who most moms couldn't handle. I am amazed at what you have gone though and gone through it with class. I like this girl but she isn't nice at all so I just wanted to say good job to you and I am impressed! You are inspiring with your positive attitude. I'm sorry what she had put you through
