We first learn to roll over and everyone's next response is, 'now what?'... Well, you have to craw then walk. We learn the alphabet and then their come another, 'now what?' we have to learn to spell and form sentences, never being content with just accomplishing the letters. I graduated high school and like most seniors there was a short period of celebration before we heard ourselves saying, 'now what?'... Well, you go to college. Once you get married, I know in the area I live in especially, you don't have time to just be a newly married couple you hear, 'now what?' well, have kids obviously. You have your first child then boom another, 'now what?'..... you have to learn how to sew, become the most organized, amazing cook, soccer mom and crafty woman out there.
And, what is even worse is when you screw up your order of, 'now what'?'....you know, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage.
Personally, I feel like we (myself strongly included) get so worried about what we need to do next that we really forget to focus on what we just accomplished. We tend to do what is expected of us to do next even if it might not even be what we want to do or what we are ready to do. I read a quote that said, "Sometimes you don't need a reason for doing everything in your life. Do it because you want to. Because it's fun. Because it makes you happy."
I have just been thinking about this a lot, because, what else is there to do early in the morning. I am making it a goal of mine to be a little less focused on figuring out my 'now what's?' after I reach a milestone. I want to make life fun. I want my daughters to be fun. I want memories of celebration not just stressing over anticipation. If I figure out exactly how to achieve this I will let you know how....
